In the first competitive match in over eighteen months, Houghton travel to Hartlepool BBOB for the first round of the County Plate.
The squad see's a mixture of new, old and very old faces.
Making he's senior debut on the wing is the latest flier to come up through the ranks, Scott Simmons. The youngster's pace has been electrifying in training and the coaches will be hoping he see's a lot of the ball today.
In the pack, a new taller, leaner and fitter Adam Eadington will pack down at No8. The former EDC college player has looked excellent throughout pre-season and warrants he's place in the backrow position.
The team see's a welcome return, in former first team scrumhalf and current Boars player/manager Gary Shepherd stepping up. Fortunately for Sheppy he wont be seen as the grandad of the squad. After a withdrawal in the frontrow, Houghton "Leg-end" John Forester steps up to offer cover and assistance to the frontrow and coaching staff.
Head Coach Ryan Pink stated, "The squad have been training well and are looking sharp. Hopefully we can secure plenty of ball and show everyone the new game plan we have introduced".
